The hard market and the BIBA innovation platform


The insurance hard market, which results in a reduced availability of insurance products, has seen a reduction in capacity for some lines of business. Brokers may struggle to find carriers with a specific appetite and products that meet the needs of some of their clients. 

To help solve this problem, BIBA has partnered with insurtech firm Insurercore to develop a platform where insurers can upload their underwriting appetite for each class of business they underwrite together with the relevant underwriting contacts. The platform will point brokers in the right direction for the risk in hand and enable an informed conversation with an underwriter to take place.


To encourage more insurers and MGAs to engage with the Insurercore platform to showcase their products and services so that it becomes the ‘go to’ digital guide to identifying market appetite, products and underwriting expertise.
